About Us

At SJC Art Studios we are all about embracing the joys and imperfections of art, with a strong focus on individuality and experimentation. Our classes are suitable for everyone - those looking to begin their art journey, try something new, express themselves, have a laugh, and expand their skills.

Our Art Studio

Our studio is a collaborative space that aims to bring people together from all walks of life through the joys of art, providing a safe space to create, explore and share experiences with others. Join us at the studio for a class run by Sarah (Your's Truly) or hire our venue to run your own creative workshop! We work on a commission basis (no hire fee) so that our studio space is accessible for both new and established businesses - exactly what we were looking for when we started out! Get in touch with your creative ideas, the sky is the limit!

Meet the Artist and Owner!

My name is Sarah Joy and I am a 30 year old Visual Artist practicing and teaching in Adelaide, South Australia (Kaurna Land). I completed my Bachelor of Creative Arts in 2021 and started SJC Art Studios at the begining of 2023. I have been involved in many local artisan gift markets and am passionate about making connections through the Adelaide Art scene. I have sold my artwork in various retail spaces, created numerous commissions for local collectors and experienced the joys of both solo and group exhibitions.

Art Teacher

Art has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. It is something I feel deeply connected to and am extremely grateful to have it as an outlet. I have always had a passion for sharing my artistic knowledge and skills with others - I find teaching art extremely rewarding and hope to study Art Therapy in the future.

Art Maker

My work radiates colour, movement and expression, and aims to explore the importance of finding beauty in everyday life and romancing the mundane. I aim to make my corner of the world a little bit brighter by using colour and joy as my own personal rebellion against the sometimes overwhelming darkness of the world.

Imperfect Creator

I am invested in the idea of enjoying the process and removing the notion of "perfect" when it comes to art - mostly because I am a recovering perfectionist myself! I want to help others break out of the cycle and embrace an almost childlike approach to their creative process - Care free and curious!
